Summer Wedding :: Shante and Antonio | Salt Lake City Wedding Photographer

Want an adrenaline rush? Photograph a wedding and a Scottish event in the same week!! In Utah photographers tend to get booked for more temple weddings than anything else--especially those just starting out like me. So you can imagine my shock and surprise when I was contacted by this super cute client about her backyard wedding!

On Friday I photographed my first real wedding--ceremony, reception and all! Nothing like a backyard summer wedding to put a sparkle in my day. A warm evening, rockin' music and dancing--it was an honor to be part of this couple's special day.

please pass the haggis

According to Wikipedia, HAGGIS "is a dish containing sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs) minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally simmered in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a casing rather than an actual stomach."

According to me, it means some good old fashioned Celtic Festival and Highland Games! Thanks to my sweet hookup to the website developer for UtahScots.org, I had a chance to photograph this summer event. Now I may not be Scottish but attending events like these makes me wish I was. I can't display pictures of faces without permission, but this is another one of those exciting events where the props (and people's backs, wink) are enough to tell the story!

You can view any upcoming events from the Utah Scots at their website by clicking here.
