These were taken at Lagoon Trail in Farmington, Utah. It's a quiet little trail that runs along behind the theme park called Lagoon. The name is deceiving because while the trail runs behind the park, it is completely separate. It has a stream, bold bridges and the most beautiful tree cover. That tree cover is great for three reasons--the biggest being that it diffuses the light. So even if you have direct sunlight outside--which isn't SO bad--it's easier to direct that light where you want it to be, and eliminates the harsh and unflattering shadows.
The second reason the tree cover is good is, because of that diffusing light, it is easier to maintain an even skin tone. The green trees tend to reflect their color onto the skin, but is easier to adjust in post-processing than a purple or blue tint.
And third, even if there is a little rain the trees block out most of the droplets--which makes it a great photo site! (Though umbrellas are always a welcome prop to make the subjects "pop" out of the foliage.)
My favorite part of this location is the sounds. The stream is quiet, the breeze disturbs the leaves; the environment is so calming it really helps you relax and let's your personality come out in your photographs so much more. And isn't that what photographs are about? You!
I hope these pictures make you as excited for a photo shoot as I am!

These last three are my favorite.
